Agency Awareness and Activation in Your Coaching Skillset

Class Overview

Peter Fischbach and I are offering this brand-new coaching class for Agile Coaches, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, Leaders, and Change Agents to hone and refine your coaching skills.

It is inspired by three things:

  1. The lessons we’ve learned from attendees of our entry Masterclass.

  2. Our intent to continue influencing and advancing the BadAssery in your coaching skillset.

  3. Making you more self-aware of your presence, mindset, advocacy, and agency as an Agile Coach.

What are we trying to change with this class?

We’ve noticed that this is one of the most challenging times in the agile space for anyone who is trying to influence, guide, and excite organizational change & business impact. So, this class is focused toward impricing some of the following challenges—

  1. We’ve noticed coaches being uncomfortable giving feedback, being clear in their communications, and being candid.

  2. We’ve noticed coaches who coach the role or problem, rather than first coaching the person.

  3. We’ve noticed that in highly charged or conflict situations, many coaches get triggered and either shut down, become emotional, or lose their way.

  4. We’ve noticed that far too many coaches are not walking their talk—lacking skills, humility, and coachability.

  5. We’ve noticed that many coaches are leaning too heavily into Professional Coaching and asking far too many questions.

  6. We’ve noticed too many coaches who avoid engaging with their clients, having skin in the game, and becoming an active partner.

  7. We’ve noticed too many coaches focusing too heavily on the team rather than adopting a broader, more systemic view.

  8. Finally, we’ve noticed that organizations don't understand the value and impact their coaches can have.

Intention

This class is intended to challenge your tendencies and awareness in the above areas. To raise the breadth and depth of your coaching practice and skills development.

In this follow-up to the EBAC Masterclass, we’re going on a Deeper Dive expedition into BadAssery with a unique focus on awareness and development of Agency in your Agile Coaching.

You don’t need to have taken the Masterclass to attend but it will have served you well in the context of entering this class.

Agenda

There are 6, 3-hour sessions in the agenda focused on the following aspects of AGENCY—

  1. Opening (1-hour)

  2. Personal

  3. Relational

  4. Systemic

  5. Catalytic

  6. Boundary

  7. Adaptive

  8. Plus, a final session focused on mapping Agency practice to the ACGW.

  9. Closing (1-hour)

Each session will include instruction, reflection, and practice.

There will also be a 1-hour Opening and a 1-hour Closing session to bookend the class. This takes the flow to 9 consecutive weeks.

Dynamics

Each module is 3 hours in length including a large breakout running for at least an hour.

7 distinct modules with separate 1-hour Opening and Closing sessions

Timing or Sequencing:

  • Weekly

  • Weekly, with 1 or 2 weeks’ break in the middle

  • 2x weekly, with 1 or 2 weeks’ break in the middle

  • Compressed delivery in a single week (in-house only)

Working cohorts are more for advanced study and collaboration.

There will also be pre- and post-work. Expect to spend about 5 hours each week in class, for private learning, and with your cohort.

We will be kicking off the Advanced Masterclass with two timezone friendly sessions this Fall.

The initial North America class series will begin on Thursday, September 24, running for 9 consecutive Thursdays from 1pm - 4pm EST.

The initial Europen class series will begin on Thursday, September 24, running for 9 consecutive Thursdays from 7am - 10am EST.

Cost for the class will mirror our Masterclass discounts for 2026. That means the class follows…
