You Can’t Handle the Truth

With the passing of Rob Reiner, I recalled how much I enjoyed A Few Good Men. My reminder trigger for the movie is that famous Jack Nicholson line—

You Can’t Handle the Truth

Today I’m thinking of that quote with respect to some politically and emotionally charged items that I’ve been writing about recently on my Soap Box blog and on my Caregiving blogs.

For example—

• Global warming is a thing, and we are destroying our Mother Earth.

• Democracy is under attack in the United States.

• Eldercare in the United States is a horror show that needs immediate repair.

• Healthcare, especially senior Healthcare, in the United States is also a spiraling disaster.

• We should be vigorously supporting Ukraine and its efforts to survive.

• The social media and AI bandwagons are out of control.

• The wealth and income inequity balance is unsustainable.

I’ll stop there. I firmly believe all the above to be TRUE. That said, the majority seem to be unable to handle these truths.
